Did you know that in 2023, the Tesla Model Y and the Tesla Model 3 were the two best-selling electric cars in Canada (Model Y: 29,582 units; Model 3: 29,122 units)? When it comes to electric vehicles, there's no denying that Tesla has made a name for itself in Quebec. However, not everyone who wants to drive an electric car wants to do so with the American brand. With this in mind, Volvo has...

Introduction
Since the presentation of the new Volvo EX30, the all-electric vehicle in the Volvo line-up, the Swedish brand has generated a lot of enthusiasm around its compact urban SUV.
Combining technological innovation, ecological commitment and styling that resembles its predecessor, the Volvo EX90, the EX30 promises to be a benchmark in our range.
The good news for those who've been eagerly awaiting it? Orders are opening soon. Let's find out when you can take possession of the Volvo EX30.
The Volvo EX30 in the Volvo line-up
The Volvo EX30 is the second vehicle in the "EX" range to be introduced in Canada. And there are 5 reasons why it will be a success on our roads.
Compact
With pedestrianization and the creation of bicycle lanes in our cities, riding in a spacious vehicle makes less sense than it used to.
But with the Volvo EX30, dimensions remain contained, without encroaching on interior space. With a length of 4.23 m, a width of 2.03 m and a height of 1.54 m, the cabin can accommodate a young family while offering 318 liters of trunk space.
Technology & Safety
Like all our Volvos, technology and safety are at the heart of our concerns. That's why, from the Core version onwards, you have access to equipment worthy of our top-of-the-range vehicles.
Environment
As well as being zero-emission when in use, the Volvo EX30 has been designed to achieve a 40% reduction in carbon emissions during manufacturing by 2025.
To achieve this, both the interior and exterior use recycled materials, so as to avoid drawing on our planet's limited resources.
Style
If the Volvo EX30 has caused a sensation, it's also thanks to its styling!
Adopting the styling cues of its predecessor, the Volvo EX90, the EX30 has all the ingredients of a top-of-the-range vehicle. It features modernized "Thor's Hammer" LED headlamps and a large Iron Mark logo on the front bumper. As for the interior, there's a sleek Scandinavian design topped by a touchscreen, again taken from the EX90.
Price list
The pricing of the new Volvo EX30 will satisfy some drivers looking for a lower-cost electric vehicle from the Swedish brand. Thanks to the Core version, the EX30 is available from $53,700, or $6,250 less than the Volvo XC40 Recharge.
We've written an article here to give you the full price list.
