4315 Boulevard Métropolitain Est, Montreal, QC, H1R 1Z4It's been a decade since the Volvo XC90 appeared on Quebec roads in its current form. Along the way, it has evolved with new technologies and a slight restyling that has kept it in step with the times.
However, with Volvo's electrification targets revised downwards, the Volvo XC90 needed a new design to remain relevant in the range alongside the Volvo EX90.
In this article, discover the new Volvo XC90 redesigned for the year 2025.
How do you rejuvenate a vehicle's design without altering its DNA?
For the year 2025, Volvo's designers have decided to give the XC90 a sober evolution, starting with the front end. Here, the headlamps are slimmer and more elongated, joining a redesigned grille featuring new intersecting diagonal bars.
Slight modifications have also been made to the rear end, such as the headlamps, which are now darker and sharper.
Last but not least, new 20“ and 22” wheels and a new Mulberry Red body color will be offered.
As for the interior, Volvo continues its tradition of offering top-of-the-range products using more and more recycled materials.
Here, the cockpit has been redesigned with a more horizontal dashboard featuring high-end recycled decorative inserts and new vertical air vents.
The restyling also includes a new, larger touchscreen (11.2“ instead of the previous 9”), with improved resolution and the infotainment system (Google integration and remote updates) now found in the new 100% electric Volvos.
Last but not least, for drivers who like to sip coffee on the go, Volvo has added a cup holder in the console for up to three drinks.
For the introduction of this new model year, Volvo has decided to continue with the same engines, i.e. the gasoline engine with mild hybridization (B6) producing 295 hp and the 455 hp plug-in hybrid (T8) offering a 100% electric range of up to 53 kilometers.
However, the new Volvo XC90 2025 does come with a few new technical features.
First of all, there has been work on the vehicle's shock absorbers, each of which can now mechanically adapt to road conditions to optimize ride comfort or stability, all as standard.
Last but not least, work has been carried out on the vehicle's soundproofing to reduce parasitic noise as much as possible, such as wind, road noise and even engine noise. To this end, Volvo has added soundproofing materials in certain areas of the vehicle.
The Volvo XC90 2025 is now available to order. Production will begin by the end of the year, with the first Canadian models due to arrive in early 2025.
We'll be writing new articles on pricing to keep you informed.
