VOLVO'S XC RANGE

SUV fashion has been around for many years now. All manufacturers now offer this type of vehicle, even those that are not expected like Lamborghini Urus. But few can boast as complete a range as Volvo and its three SUVs: the XC40XC60 and XC90.

A quick overview to describe these three SUVs that have left many specialists speechless and have won every possible price in their path.

Volvo XC90

Let's start with the biggest, largest but also the first to come from the XC family, the Volvo XC90. This SUV is first loaded with history.

Indeed, it is the first Volvo vehicle that was presented by the Swedish manufacturer after its purchase in 2010. And what a vehicle! During his presentation, journalists and automotive specialists have long been speechless to this newcomer.

Design was first and foremost at the heart of the debates. No one expected to discover this perfect blend of luxury, sportiness and strength. Seen as a manufacturer in decline at that time, Volvo was laying the foundation stone of what will be the future of its range.

For example, Thör's hammer-shaped light signatures are now used on all Swedish brand models.

When you get behind the steer wheel, you see a large control screen in this XC90 from which you can access all the car's settings. Developed in collaboration with Apple, this screen proves to be very intuitive and it's easy to get caught up in the game of discovering the many settings available to adapt this SUV to your needs.

Inside this large SUV, there are 7 passengers seats. And contrary to what you might think, these 2 extra seats are REAL seats.

On the engine side, Volvo is offering two petrol engines for the Volvo XC90 in Canada with the 250 horsepower T5 engine and the 360 horsepower T6. The Swedish manufacturer also offers a rechargeable hybrid engine for its largest SUV with the powerful 400 horsepower T8!

We are at Volvo and as always safety is a paramount criterion. The XC90 is no exception to the rule, on the contrary! Since its presentation and the first tests carried out, it is considered one of the safest vehicles ever built.

On board this Volvo XC90, you will find from the Momentum version: City safetyIntellisafeVolvo On Call and many other systems.

Also noteworthy is the presence of Volvo's first semi-automatic  pilot module. The latter makes it possible to manage the driving semi-autonomously. You can activate this mode of driving on road or highway. The vehicle will manage only the trajectory to adopt and the speed. A special feeling the first time we leave control to his car but of such efficiency that we quickly find it difficult to do without it.

The 2019 Volvo XC90 will be available in Montreal starting at $ 59,150 in its Momentum version with theT5 AWD engine. Option sets will also be different and more complete than in versions. This price will include transportation, preparation and taxes.

For more information, you can contact the sales team of the Volvo dealership in Montreal, they will be happy to inform you.

In terms of reward, the Volvo XC90 has received countless awards. The most prestigious being certainly the Car of the Year 2016 awarded by the American magazine Motor Trend.

2019 Volvo XC60

After its old sibling, it was the Volvo XC60's turn to receive a complete redesign in 2017. Like the XC90, this SUV leave automotive specialists speechless.

It uses the same aesthetic codes as its predecessor all in a reduced format. More sporty, it offers a perfect compromise for people looking for an SUV to have a large volume of cargo without having 7 seats.

Inside, the Volvo XC60 is simply stunning. The finish is perfect down to the smallest detail. From the dashboard to the seats, it's hard to blame the Swedish style.

We find again the same type of general control screen as in the Volvo XC90. It allows to make its settings settings very easily and intuitively. It also offers a beautiful projection surface for the 360° camera that activates during parking maneuvers.

In terms of engine, this Volvo XC60 takes the same engine as the Volvo XC90, namely the 250 horsepower T5 engine and the 360 horsepower T6.

This SUV is also part of the manufacturer's range of hybrid vehicles with the 400-hp T8 rechargeable hybrid engine!

On sale since 2017, the new 2019 Volvo XC60 will be for sale in the Volvo dealership in Montreal starting at $46,350. This price does not include transport, preparation and taxes.

In terms of rewards? The Volvo XC60 has done even better than the XC90! It's simple, almost nothing has escaped him, until the ultimate consecration: the title of World Car of the Year 2018.
It's hard to do better... Let's wait and see what the 2019 Volvo XC40 is all about!

2019 Volvo XC40

The only segment of SUVs not yet filled by Volvo was the compact, urban SUV segment. It did not take long, in September 2017, the 2019 Volvo XC40 is presented in Milan.

Compact, agile and flexible, it will quickly become a reference in the category! In pre-launch video presentations, we could see Volvo engineers working on the development of the 2019 XC40.

The latter has been thought to be a most practical vehicle everyday. We find a credit card holder, door enclosures moved to make room for a laptop, a modular trunk to store the best bags after shopping and even a removable bin at the central armrest!

Built on the new Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) platform, it will also mark the revival of the 40 series, which should be rejuvenated in the coming years, with the Volvo V40 and the Volvo S40.

During the day of discovery of this XC40 proposed by Volvo Canada, we were able to realize that this XC40 was in many areas ahead of these direct competitors. The most bluffing being in terms of driving, motorization and interior finish.

This Volvo XC40 is available in 3 different versions: MomentumR-Design and Inscription. It is for sale in Canada starting at $39,900. However, this price does not include transport, preparation and taxes.

This model is also part of the Swedish brand's 100% electric program. We should see its plug-in hybrid version coming on the market in 2020 and possibly an electric version quickly behind.

In terms of rewards, the Volvo XC40 started harvesting before it was even available in dealerships. With the first cars delivered in April 2018, the Volvo XC40 was named European Car of the Year in March 2018.
A first prize that should bring others in the coming months.

Volvo Renewal

These three models are currently the top selling Volvo lineup in Canada. As we were able to mention above, they are participating in the revival of the Swedish brand, which has been booming since its acquisition.

This XC family is the central pillar, but the next models in the 40 and 60 series are also eagerly awaited by car and brand enthusiasts in general.

The next presentation scheduled? The Volvo S60 in the summer of 2018.
