Did you know that in 2023, the Tesla Model Y and the Tesla Model 3 were the two best-selling electric cars in Canada (Model Y: 29,582 units; Model 3: 29,122 units)? When it comes to electric vehicles, there's no denying that Tesla has made a name for itself in Quebec. However, not everyone who wants to drive an electric car wants to do so with the American brand. With this in mind, Volvo has...

On August 23, 24 and 25, 2023, Volvo made a stop in Montreal to present its two new models: the Volvo EX30 and EX90.
An opportunity to discover in person the upcoming 100% electric models in the Swedish range, and to find out about prices in Canada.
Volvo EX30: the small SUV in the range
Since its announcement, this small SUV, the smallest in the range, has rapidly become the most highly-anticipated vehicle in the line-up. With its unique styling, original interior and exterior colours, and a new way of thinking about passenger comfort, it's got everyone's attention.
This SUV will be available in Quebec with 2 powertrains:
- 1 electric motor and 2-wheel drive (RWD)
- 2 electric motors and 4-wheel drive (AWD)
In terms of range, the 2-wheel-drive version is said to reach 420 km, while the 4-wheel-drive version is rated about 400 km.
When the new model was announced, it was predicted that this SUV would be the least expensive in the Volvo range, but no price was revealed.
During the official presentation by Matt Grigis, Managing director of Volvo Canada, who came to Montreal especially for the occasion, the prizes were announced.
The Volvo EX30 2025 will start at 57 359$ +tx.
With these prices, we can assume that this vehicle should qualify for both government rebates and thus offer $12,000 in potential rebates for future owners.
Please note that shipping and preparation costs are not yet known and will be added to this price.
Volvo EX90: The flagship
Packed with the best technologies developed by Volvo, this model will be the safest SUV ever designed by the brand. With its new LiDAR detection system, it offers a protective "shield" for owners of this vehicle.
Inside, the incredible quality of the materials, unrivalled comfort with benches using a new fabric made from recycled plastic, numerous accessories for passengers and drivers and a glass roof that offers a phenomenal experience.
With its new battery technology, Volvo Canada hopes to be able to offer this vehicle with:
- Electric range of up to 480 KM
- 30-minute charge time to go from 10% to 80%.
- Total power of 496 HP
