What's new in the 2026 Volvo XC40
For the 2026 model year, there are three new additions to the Volvo XC40.
The Volvo XC40 Ultra Black Edition now available
For two years now, the Volvo range has included a new trim level available for the best-equipped models - the Black Edition.
As well as incorporating all the equipment available on the Volvo XC40, the Black Edition finish gives a vehicle with specific aesthetic features that give it a more aggressive appearance.
These specific aesthetic features include :
- Onyx Black metallic paint: a deep, brilliant hue that covers the entire body.
- Black sports grille: featuring the all-black Volvo Iron Mark logo.
- Black exterior elements: mirrors, roof, window surrounds and rear badges (model name and engine) are also in gloss black.
- Exclusive 20-inch wheels: five double-spoke wheels in gloss black/diamond finish.
Core trim: new standard equipment
All Volvo XC40 models come with the best of Volvo technology as standard. For example, the safety features for which the brand is renowned are not optional.
However, to complete the 2026 Volvo XC40, some technological equipment that was not standard was missing. For the 2026 model year, the Volvo XC40 corrects this by now offering front parking assistance and adaptive cruise control for the Core trim level.
New colours available in the catalogue
With each new model year, some colours leave the catalogue and others enter. The 2026 Volvo XC40 is no exception, as it will no longer be available in the following colours: Fusion Red, Sage Green, Fjord Blue and Silver Dawn.
However, there are three new colours in the 2026 Volvo XC40 catalogue:
- Denim Blue
- Aurora Silver
- Forest Lake
